Heads up everyone – MallowDrama is no longer selling cupcakes at Dinner Zen so I have removed them from the list to the left, but I did want to let you know that mini MallowDrama cupcakes will be for sale at at Play Cafe in Hunters Woods Village Center in Reston (including Secret Garden -- their vegan carrot cake -- and more).

Also, MallowDrama is currently offering a free delivery service within Reston for orders of 1 dozen or more cupcakes! Service available Monday-Friday, 10 AM-6 PM, and Saturday 10 AM-12 PM. They ask for 48 hours notice.

MallowDrama Valentine's Day Cupcakes

Don't be left out in the cold this Valentine's Day! Check out MallowDrama's special cupcake offerings, available February 8-15, to celebrate with your friends or loved ones.

MallowDrama has created four distinctive designs for Valentine’s Day, available in two delicious flavors: Red Velvet iced with Vanilla Buttercream; and Spicy Chocolate topped with Cinnamon Ganache.

Each collection includes 2 Red Velvet cupcakes and 2 Spicy Chocolate cupcakes and is available for $14. Order a dozen cupcakes for just $33! Vegan or gluten-free cupcakes (Spicy Chocolate only) are available for Valentine's Day by special order. Single cupcakes can be purchased for $3.50 each at Dinner Zen, February 12-14.

Small Talk

Each cupcake in the Small Talk collection is decorated with a conversation heart and made of fondant and hand-lettered by MallowDrama's chefs. They'll get the message with cupcakes that say: HI QT, UR SWEET, CALL ME, BE MINE.

I Love You More

Sentiments included in the I Love Your More collection include: MARRY ME, 4EVER YOURS, SAY YES, I DO.

Not at All in Love

Each cupcake in this collection is topped with white chocolate lingerie that we have hand-piped and hand-painted. Colors and designs vary.

MallowDrama Cupcakes Come to Reston

Starting Saturday, November 15, 2008, MallowDrama cupcakes will be for sale at Dinner Zen, Reston, Virginia’s first meal assembly store! A celebration will be held at Dinner Zen on November 15th from 1-5 PM, where door prizes will be up for grabs as well as free mini cupcake samples from MallowDrama. Also, for ever cupcake purchased MallowDrama will be donating 50 cents to one of four local theater groups, as designated by the customer.

The line of cupcakes at Dinner Zen, known as MallowDrama’s Cupcake Theater, will feature at least six selections daily. Four standard flavors (see below) will be offered on an ongoing basis, with seasonal specialties and other flavors rotating onto the menu; cupcakes are priced at $3 each. Vegan cupcakes will be available daily, and special orders can be placed for mini cupcakes, large quantities, special decorations, and gluten-free selections.

Starlight Orange Zest – yellow cake w/ white chocolate orange ganache

MallowDrama’s cupcakes are baked fresh locally by Mary and David Supley Foxworth, MallowDrama Chefs and Co-owners. The pair uses premium natural ingredients – no artificial preservatives – and uses local and organic ingredients whenever possible; all dairy (milk, cream, butter, and eggs) and sugar in MallowDrama’s products are organic.

MallowDrama Cupcakes & Cake Art

Over the weekend I stopped by the Ayr Hill Art Gallery in Vienna, Virginia. Ayr Hill is a fine art gallery that showcases the work of contemporary and emerging American artists. On Saturday they were exhibiting artwork on a less common canvas: Cake!

David Supley Foxworth of MallowDrama, who was one of the contestants in last month's 1st Annual DC Cupcake Contest, used his background in art to replicate famous works on a number of cakes for display at the gallery. Of course, there were also some cupcakes there to nibble on while you gazed at the art. The flavors were Black Forest topped with Cherry Buttercream, White Chiffon with Raspberries and Vanilla Buttercream Frosting, and Cinnamon Spice with Caramelized Apples.

In honor of Vienna's Oktoberfest celebration that was taking place down the street, the exhibit included edible reproductions of works by famous German and other European painters, including Vincent Van Gogh, Franz Marc, and Edvard Munch. Take a look:
